Two Factor Authentication

As part of new regulatory requirements on online payments, all users are required to comply with Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). This applies when users log into the platform and when instructing a payment to a new beneficiary. Currently, we support both phone SMS and software tokens as the 2nd form of authentication alongside the password.

Log in Authentication

  • Once the user enters their email and password on the initial login page, they will be instructed to register for 2-Factor Authentication (2FA).
  • The user is given the option to either set up their 2FA to generate security codes via an authenticator app or mobile phone SMS.
    • Note: Once selected this cannot be changed unless the user raises a support request.

  • For the authenticator app:
    • QR code will be generated which the user can scan via their preferred authentication app
    • Enter the 6-digit code to proceed
  • For SMS:
    • Enter your mobile phone number and an SMS will be sent
    • Enter the 6-digit code on the SMS to proceed
  • On future logins, after entering their email and password, the user will automatically send an SMS, or be prompted to enter their authenticator app code.

Add Beneficiary Authentication

  • As part of adding a beneficiary, or instructing a payment to a new beneficiary, the user will need to re-authenticate via 2FA.
  • Once the beneficiary details have been captured, the user will be required to enter their password and then enter a new 6-digit code from their authenticator app or SMS.
